The Big Island
Last Hurrah
Longtime mommy/daughter traditions include an annual trip at the end of August, right before school starts to one of our favorite places in Hawaii. Skipping all far excursions last year and savoring any new valiant travel accomplished this pandemic year, we included one more important person - making it a very special family journey, husband/father included.
Swimming all day with large, gentle sea turtles in remarkably see through water amongst other colorful sea creatures never gets old. Perfectly warm water, balmy weather, soft sand, tropical breeze, ripe papaya and macadamia nut sticky buns for breakfast, shaved ice whenever, mai tais and feast at a very proper luau, cultural activities to restore the mind, morning meditations in front of blue waves and black lava rocks, spacious outdoor island space to roam and play, noticing and paying attention to each sunrise and every incredible sunset...we are grateful to have participated in complete relaxation before summer officially ends.
